I don't care how it ends, I may not have been here in the beginning but I have stayed for a long time, good or bad I will watch it and enjoy this show that has given me so much joy and laughter.
just for the sake of not posting spoilery info in the wrong channel, what is the difference between spoilers and adv spoilers, and does that apply to the show itself, or fics? Or both?

If you want to discuss anything that has already aired - such as the entirety of the actual show, you can do so in any channel, as the regular spoilers channel is only so people can discuss 'new' episodes without spoiling others.

Cheap was the reason for the 2D style used in FiM. 2D Puppets are easier to create than 3D models, but there are far more of them to account for limited viewing angles. I suppose accessorizing the characters would be more costly in 3D, on the other hoof. I think they could go either way, but I think there's a better chance they choose to go with 2D, just looking at the majority of Hasbro's shows.
Though the character designs fit FiM characters poorly, I like the movie's style so far. The quality would drop afterward if the show stays 3D of course, and I just don't know how I feel about Paw Patrol style animation. I enjoyed Jimmy Neutron's series as well as Reboot, and those had some very basic animation by today's standards. For ponies, a huge part of the appeal is their design and the expressiveness of the characters. If the 3D style detracts too much from these, then it will be hard to sell it to me.(edited)
My take: it's generic and safe. It isn't going to amaze with the plot. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad, but execution is everything with a story like this.
